anne valérie hash fall 2008 couture

review coming soon!

oh man!

Here's Natasha Poly pulling off men's wear, straight from the pages of July 2008's issue of Vogue Russia. I think the styling is fantastic.

The look is very structured and tailored (and just a bit black-tie event), but with girly accents.

daily entries

Okay! Hope you enjoy the updates! I'm going to be posting basically daily from now on. I don't know about a weekly icon/picture update, maybe bi-weekly. We'll see. Happy Wednesdays. Here are a few pictures. Stay fabulous (maybe not fashionable, whatever :) )

patriotism

And just in time for the Fourth of July! This spread was All-American feel in a off-beat, quirky way. And the outcome was simply adorable. Here are the pictures from A4's story Terrific.

I think stylist Charles Manning did an excellent job with this. Basically, the title's spot-on.

harper's in the future

Another cliché shot. The model dressed in futuristic digs, just hanging out in a middle-of-nowhere dingy... dare I say junkyard? Yeah. The shoot, titled The Day After Tomorrow, appeared in UK's Harper's Bazaar, July 2008 issue.

badgley mischka spring 2008 rtw

Okay, here's the deal. I love Badgley Mischka. Now that that's out there, I highly recommend you guys check out style.com and look at the complete collection because there are so many amazing outfits that I can't post all of them! Well, here are a few.

There's so much variety in this collection. Neutrals and brights, structured and flowing. I can't stand how adorable this collection is!

yes, yes. Fall. Maybe a little sneek peek? I honestly love this show more than anything right now. The hair pieces, the bright stripes, long cardigans, platform oxfords, and incredibly comfy-looking sweaters.

I also love the round sunglasses, the crown!, and the purses. I also like how the girls are smiling! :)

rodarte spring 2008 rtw

First off, I want to say that I love the stuff Kate and Laura Mulleavy (designers of Rodarte) do, always. However, their designs are really out there for ready-to-wear. The spring show featured an ethereal feel. The garments looked a lot like water, and shimmery pastels were a very prominent theme. Check it out.

I couldn't help but notice the pink extensions peeking out from their ponytails. The dresses' silhouettes are airy and fluffy, very girly and cute-sy. I suppose those aspects of the clothes are "ready to wear" for summer.

kirsten dunst for miu miu

I simply fell in love with Miu Miu's Spring Summer 2008 campaign featuring Kirsten Dunst. I never really liked Kirsten in the slightest, but I seriously fancy her in the pictures (probably just for the clothes?)

a miss monroe revival via vogue paris

The dazzling diamonds, the scarlet lipstick, the black liquid eyeliner, the curled blond bob, not to mention a significantly older man hanging off her arm; it was definitely all there on the glossy pages of February 2008's edition of Vogue Paris.

I spy Chanel! Model Natasha Poly looks exactly like Marilyn Monroe in the last picture above. I really adore the dress in the first one. Just some quick pictures for you to enjoy there! Have an awesome Friday.

re: does karl have amy winehouse on the mind?

Turns out the answer is yes. A few days ago I was watching Canada's Fashion Television, and briefly mentioned his inspirations for his Pre-Fall 2008 show. Along with Miss Amy, his inspirations were also said to be London (in contrast to last year's focus of Paris) and the men that inspired Coco Chanel herself. So I guess that explains that.

In fact, it wasn't just Karl who was inspired by Amy's style. In February 2008's edition of Vogue Paris, there was an entire spread dedicated to Amy Winehouse.

Model Isabeli Fontana looks a bit too unnatural with that cig between her fingers to be playing Amy. The entire shoot looked a bit forced.

Well, there you go, not much else to say about it.
